Georgian Bay Musical Theatre Company Sponsorship
Ferguson Barristers is very proud to announce that we are sponsors of the Georgian Bay Musical Theatre Company!
It is extremely important for us to be an active part of the community because we live here too! Supporting local art and cultural groups such as the GBMTC helps to make a positive difference in the community and develops the love of the arts among young theatre enthusiasts. Our support of the GBMTC and the support of other charities in the area helps these organizations operate so they can continue to provide value to our amazing community.
Why support the arts? A thriving local arts and cultural life has many other positive benefits for the community. It spurs the local economy, helps with educational and social development of youth, attracts tourism, attracts and retains a creative and talented workforce and enriches the quality of life for each of us.
Here is a little more information about the Georgian Bay Musical Theatre Company:
Georgian Bay Musical Theatre Company (GBMTC), formally known as Triple Threat Summer Company, is a not for profit organization that will bring contemporary Broadway musicals to Central Ontario. These productions will be intentionally geared towards developing a younger generation of theatre enthusiasts here at home. Our objective is to encourage young adults to be involved in all aspects of theatre, including stage performers and musicians, as well as technical crew, stage crew and/or production staff members.
In the summer of 2013 Triple Threat Summer Company in partnership with Huronia Players brought the very successful and sold out run of the musical RENT to Midland and we’re confident that GBMTC will experience the same success. Within the next ten years we are hoping to secure the production rights to the following musicals:
- LEGALLY BLONDE The Musical
- SPRING AWAKENING
- ONCE The Musical
- GHOST The Musical
- CHICAGO The Musical
“Our goal is to make a difference in our community by igniting the fire of musical theatre in the 18 to 35 year old demographic.” – Georgian Bay Musical Theatre Company
